This is a poster design for my Typography class. The project was based around this contest: [link] . The idea behind this poster was supposed to be a city formed entirely of pipes. This idea proved to be a bit convoluted, so I tried to simplify it a bit by choosing a typeface that resebled pipes (IronPipe) and instead I did a kind of word association game with water. I had fun, it was chanlenging not to reuse words. xD
Unfortunately my computer was broken at the time and I did this on my laptop. I am very disappointed with how the colours turned out. It looked so nice on the screen. laptop screens are just terrible. :\
Tools: Illustrator CS4 Intuos 4 Approx 6 hours.
Setting each word individually for size and kerning was a choooooore.
I really like this and the idea I can't believe it took you that long! I tried a similar thing in photoshop making a water bottle out of words and it didn't take nearly as long, maybe an hour max.
Keep in mind that I individually set the colours too to simulate lights in the buildings and to give depth. This wasn't just a "slap a bunch of words together" kind of thing lol. But thanks
