This is mostly for me but I figured I'd put it up here anyways. The names I have chosen for the characters says so much about them, so this may contain spoilers.

Fiat Lux
A bible reference from the book of Genesis, when god created light. It literally means "let there be light". I found that this, although generic, was a perfect name for this story. Since the story is based around vampire lore and fiction, and vampires are weak to sunlight... Well it has more of a relevance too, but it would be a pretty big spoiler so I will leave it at that.

Eve Ivanski

First name - Eve (Ee-v):
The name Eve traditionally comes from the bible. She is the wife of Adam, first human woman and mother of life. The name itself literally means Life, and later in the story this view of her as life will be very evident in contrast with the leading male of my story. It really fits her perfectly.

Surname - Ivanski (Ee-von-ski):
Of Russian origin, quite old. I'm not too sure of the literal translation of it, but Ivan is a varient of the hebrew John, which means "God is gracious".

Eros Gallaway

First name - Eros (Air-ose):
Greek origin, Eros is a god of love and lust, worshipped as a fertility god. The name is also a root for the word Erotic. This very much suits this character's personality, as we will find out he has done some hanous things in the name of "love".

Surname - Gallaway (Gah-la-way):
English origin, meaning stranger or foreigner. Again I felt it suited his personality, since he is quite an aloof character. I think this also reflects his true age, and that he is "foreign" to modern society, which is evident in his actions towards Eve.

Milena Giovanni

First name - Milena (Mih-lay-nah):
An italian name derived from slovac. It means beloved. Milena is the youngest of six siblings in a very powerful family, so I wanted her name to be "cutesy", as well as to have meaning to the story behind it. But her first name is more related to her own family's story, which will be revealed at some point.

Surname - Giovanni (Geo-van-ee):
Italian name meaning God is merciful. The name itself is in contrast with the family's true nature and history. Milena's family also gives contrast to her personality, as she is not like her direct family at all (parents and siblings).

Cacia Vaughan

First name - Cacia (Ka-sha):
English origin, shortened "pet name" version of Acacia (A-ka-sha), it means hope. Together with her last name it can be directly translated as "little hope" or "of little hope". This is directly tied to her desperate desire to atone for her sins. She recognises that she has done something terrible and wants nothing more than to repent, but there is little hope for her.

Surname - Vaughan (Vah-gan):
Welsh origin. means small or little. Not much else I can really say about it haha



Well that's that. There are other minor character's names that are of some importance and relavance to their actions in the story, but I'll put them in my comments later. I just wish I could make the pages faster, I'm very slow -.-;
