Finally got around to making a new journal CSS. Bad as it may be it's still better than the old one I had up that was supposed to be temporary. haha. I dunno why but I just can't be arsed putting much time into it.
The image in the header is a WIP of mine.
Anyways I found this and thought it was interesting, so I'm going to share.
About LAB ColourI am always ranting and raving about how printers totally ruin digital paintings. I never knew most printers converted them from RGB to CMYK; that explains everything. I mean test it for yourself. open a drawing in Photoshop and convert it to CMYK mode and you will see your colours change (usually for the worse).
So yeah, Lab makes for better printing results (and better visual results on screen if you are using a HD monitor). I have been playing around with it this morning, and it is quite nice when blending too. The colours are more vibrant....more lucid. All the details are in that link, so if you are concerned with dull printing results, why not have a peek.
Er...isn't that what I've been trying to TELL you all these years about printers?! I KNEW it! I knew it all along! Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha---Okay, I have no idea what you're actually talking about. 8P
I can say in my experience though that it really seems to depend on the printer itself. But I have noticed that a lot of printers don't get digital art 100% accurate. But I think it also may depend on how the digital art was even made. For example, I've printed off some comic strips before, on decent printers, and they pretty much looked the same as they did on the screen. But others wouldn't so much, I imagine.
But I also imagine you know what you're talking about too, and that you're right. 8P
Also you're right it does depend on the printer. Inkjet printers are much ebtter for printing paintings and photos than laser. The kind of paper you use can also have an effect.
Well, all I know is, Lab mode as opposed to RGB mode will improve the colour output of your work.
