Some Small Changes...

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 9, 2011, 3:21 PM
Well I managed to replace some of my camera gear, but the insurance is barely covering half of it. better than nothing right? I went for the D5000 again, because I just loved everything about that camera. It's JPEGS are a bit softer than others, but shooting in raw gets around that problem.

On that note, I'm going to submit photography here in future. having a seperate account means I dont submit photos that often, and it's annoying having to log out and log back in all the time. I will still submit paintings/illustrations of course, but it just means there will be diversity in my submissions. I will probably move over some of the stuff on my other account to here, but I''m not sure yet.

Oh! I meant to tell you yesterday, I did a search on gumtree.ie for "canon" as I sometimes do (keeping an eye out for good valued 2nd hand lens or slave flash) and there are a load of listings for canon camera bundles with unreal prices. Three of them for the Canon 5d Mk Ii which is a 1700 euro camera with no lens. It's absolutely recking my head looking at them. they have to be fraudulent listings though, they just have to be... they're listing about €4000 worth of equipment condition brand new and asking €350

I need to just pretend I never saw it, lol.

Anyway congrats on having your replacement! I'll look forward to seeing more photos.

Oh wow, that definitely sounds too good to be true. Either that or those kits are damaged beyond use lol. Thing is though, I had to go nikon again, since I had 2 lenses and some other nikon gear. If I went canon I'd have to buy that stuff all over again, so it didn't make much sense to start switching.

They all say brand new. It has to be a con of some sort. I see why you would choose to go with nikon again, I'd have done the same in your position. Especially if you were already satisfied and of course used to where the buttons and controls are.
