Urban Decay fans be wary...

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 22, 2011, 8:43 AM
I'm pretty much posting this everywhere. I've been a fan of Urban Decay for a long time now. Their stuff is fantastic, always really high quality, and it always goes above what you would expect.

I got the new book of shadows (IV) today though as an early christmas present, and I was a little shocked. The packaging was of such bad quality that it left a horrible scrape down the entire left row as I opened it for the first time. It was a gift, so I cant really take it back, but if I could I would, and exchange it for one that is not so poorly put together.

I am disappointed. I had heard of this happening with the IV book of shadows. I had heard a lot of stories And I thought they were maybe just rare cases. But aparently not.

Be wary. It seems their quality is declining, and I am really sad at that fact. :( If you are planning to get it, or get it for someone else, be wary.

Just to be clear, I am still grateful for it of course, and I will still get a lot of use and enjoyment out of it. I am just a bit disappointed with Urban Decay for such shoddy packaging. It wans't cheap, so I mena you just expect better, you know?

Bleh...That would always be disappointing to hear, yeah...So, is the case one of those flimsy paper types, then? I really hate those, and don't understand why anyone would use them. Like, ever. D8<

Actually no, which makes it worse. it's like this extremely bulky heavy duty cardboard. It's built to last for sure. The problem was that when you slide the drawer out there was a bit of an edge form the decorative paper cover sort of protruding on the inside from bad gluing... It's hard to explain, I'm not sure if that makes sense. But because the gluing on the inside wasn't neat, it was scraping the drawer as you pulled it out.

It's a manufacturing error that was TOO common for this set. ;\ I've seen too many people have the exact same problem. I fixed it by tearing off the rogue bit of paper, and it seems to have fixed the problem, but it doens't undo the damage done in the first place.

Oh well. ;\

I think I get it, but I...don't think I've ever seen, or heard of, a case like that before. D8 Auy...Well, I'm sorry to hear that happened. Ugh. >__<
